DevNest News is designed as an orchestrated publication system rather than a collection of manual wiki edits.

Ada is the editorial orchestrator. She gathers the request, identifies the intended desk and geographic scope, checks that the source and source publication timestamp are present, and prepares a structured PublicationEvent. Ada does not hold the MediaWiki password and does not call MediaWiki directly.

board-api is the mutation door. It validates the event, requires evidence for news, requires verified confidence for public visibility, applies idempotency, and routes the event to the permitted sinks. The MediaWiki adapter then performs the login-token and CSRF-token flow, renders the NewsReport metadata, writes the article, applies categories, and returns the page and revision receipt.

The wiki page is the human-facing article and revision history. The publication event remains authoritative for source, confidence, visibility, and delivery state. This separation lets the same event later fan out to other approved surfaces without asking Ada to manage multiple credentials or duplicate article content.

Every article begins with a short Quick summary for fast reading and future AI retrieval. The summary is intentionally concise and factual. Longer context belongs in the lede, Why it matters section, evidence, and article body. A future AI summary may be added as a separately identified generated block, but it must never overwrite the editorial summary.
